The new Sanya Marriott Hotel Dadonghai Bay showcases a diversity of authentic local and international dining experiences and pioneering culinary concepts at its five restaurants, a lounge and bar, plus a Chinese bakery.
The luxurious oceanfront hotel is also proud to debut Southern China’s first Goji Kitchen & Bar, a pioneering culinary concept currently being introduced in Asia by Marriott Hotels & Resorts.
Goji Kitchen & Baris a dynamic new restaurant concept created for the modern traveller. The warm, sophisticated all-day dining destination serves the finest authentic and locally relevant dishes along with locally inspired juices and cocktails. Flexible spaces transition throughout the day and evening offering fresh, dynamic ambiences and gourmet encounters. After the morning buffet breakfast, Goji Kitchen & Bar cleverly divides into two outlets: Goji Kitchen and micro-concept restaurant, Goji Asia, which specialises in signature Southeast Asian dishes during lunch and dinner, as well as seasonal pop-up cuisines.
Goji Kitchen & Bar is designed to evoke a home-like setting and sense of family reunion around lovingly prepared meals from the residential-style show kitchen. Rustic hardwood floors, rich organic textures and natural granite enhance the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Wood and weathered concrete define Goji Asia’s modern spirit.
The daily Goji Kitchen buffet features an array of interactive chef stations, including seafood on ice, a dim sum and noodle kitchen, Shandong cuisine kitchen and a carving station with daily roast meats. Hainan Island’s first buffet Teppan Grill is another highlight, firing up the best barbecue in town. Local specialities such as Dongshan braised lamb and homemade fish ball soup, along with Marriott burgers and other comfort favourites will also be available on the a la carte menu.
Goji Kitchen opens out to Goji Terrace Bar with spectacular views of Dadonghai Bay and its sandy beach. The bar serves 15 varieties of iced tea, fresh juices and smoothies plus an extensive cocktail and wine selection. By night, Goji Terrace Bar transforms into an alfresco barbecue lounge serving Australian beef tenderloin, tomahawk steaks and grilled seafood straight from the barbecue pit.
Man Ho is a classic Chinese restaurant specialising in Shandong and Cantonese cuisines in a prestigious, contemporary setting. The design is richly appointed in warm burgundy and gold accents with dark woods and fountains. A separate elevator directly accesses two floors of exclusive private dining suites with ocean views, chef show kitchens and butler service.
Man Ho’s signature Shandong-style dishes feature premium ingredients, such as sea Cucumber in clear broth, Qingdao braised caramelised twin prawns with Chinese parsley, and Shandong cuttlefish roe soup. Meals are accompanied by an extensive list of fine teas, French wines, Chinese spirits and whiskeys.
Smoki Moto is a lively Korean barbeque and Japanese teppan restaurant where diners can grill their meal, or have it done for them, at built-in tabletop barbecues. Stainless steel and dark natural stone finishes give the restaurant a chic, industrial-inspired look. Upon entering, guests pass an aged beef drying room, wine cellar and fireplace. Smoki Moto also features a soju bar and two private teppan rooms.
Highlights on the menu at Smoki Moto may include a selection of house-dried, hand-cut premium Korean beef and famous Jeju Island black pork, accompanied by eight varieties of kimchee from the signature kimchee trolley. The menu also offers an array of fresh sushi and sashimi paired with Hainan’s largest selection of soju, Korean craft beers, new world wines and fresh juices.
The Lobby Lounge is the heart of Sanya Marriott Hotel Dadonghai Bay and captures the breezy resort feel in its blonde wood furnishings and exposed wood beam ceiling. The area is divided into different spaces for socialising, working, relaxing and dining. The Lounge is an ideal place to enjoy morning tea, locally inspired cocktails, specialty drinks and Chinese teas.
The China Baking Companyis a modern adaptation of a traditional Hong Kong bakery serving freshly-baked egg tarts, char siu bao, dumplings and other delicacies. Excellent coffees from the Italian espresso machine and traditional Hong Kong milk tea are also available at this aromatic bakery.
Sanya Marriott Hotel Dadonghai Bay was designed by internationally acclaimed architecture firm AECOM, and comprises a stunning new building (WEST Wing) plus a refurbished SKY Wing, formerly the Shanhaitian Hotel. The Man Ho, Smoki Moto, Lobby Lounge and China Baking Company in Sky Wing are expected to be opened in last quarter of 2015.
